My Summer Products

So after a "small" shopping trip I have the essentials for summer 2010. This summer is all about natural beauty so opting for a tinted moisturizer instead of a foundation, is not only good for your skin but also will give you the natural glow of summer. Hair care is also going natural this summer. When fresh out of the pool or lake put some leave in conditioner in to help soften and keep healthy some conditioners also have spf to help protect your hair from the sun. Then following up with a smoothing lotion or curl inhancer and letting it air dry will give you a natural summer wave. If your hair is bit more unruly, try a headband or scarf or a chic loose bun. So break out the bathing suit and turn on the tunes and GET YOUR SUN ON!!

For You Dear Grandma

For you,
Dear one,
Now gone,
Your loved ones are here.

Though far off,
Not near as far,
Your spirit shall
Linger
Forth coming in all our hearts.
A smile,
You offer
Fills the empty space
Creating life,
Once more
Where it had been,
And will always stay.

A life so cherished
No soul need deny, as
Your presence
Whole and sweet
In every sense, warms
The cold days and
Sorrowed faces.

You are every snowflake, every
Sweet breeze.
You are
Every leaf
On every tree,
Every prayer on
Every lip.
You are every smile.

There are no shadows, no darkness.
For you its only light and hope.

The sky, so blue.
The clouds, so pure.
Your face sits amongst
The ancient stars.
Others great,
Gone before you,
But none will be as missed.

Every tear will shine,
With the glory,
You lived.
Every broken heart,
Will be mended,
By sweet memories,
Of you.

Your air,
Was a graceful one,
Filled with knowledge,
And pride.
The call of you,
Your voice,
So familiar,
Still rings, in my ear.
Your words,
Ever comforting,
Ever needed.
Your heart,
Ever loving,
Will always be carried,
By us.

Life continues,
Not without you.
You are carried along,
By loved ones.
In every memory,
Every grandchild,
Every domino,
In every smile,
And every step.
You will be every heartbeat.

It Was You (an original poem written for an assignment)

A scream, a crash,
Fleeting footsteps.
My heart is pounding in my
Ears.
Shallow breaths
No air to the lungs.
Shivering,
No,
Shaking.
A new feeling.
A new fear.
A door opens as my eyes flash open as well.
Dark footsteps follow, scanning the once crowded room
I am alone.
Alone with my screaming veins,
My splitting lungs,
My ominus fear.

The valley is green and calm.
Skin sparking as the sun reaches my body,
Warm breezes whip at my legs and sing happy songs,
“We shall follow with you always
As though we are all one together
As God and the earth and the moon and the stars
We shall be together always.”
I brush a stray hair from my eyes as the wind suddenly stops.
All is quiet as I search your familiar face for signs of its usual innocence.
You stare back at me as though we have never met. Too far,
Too far we are from where we were.
A sudden helplessness jerks at my hand,
But I continue to search you.
It must be you.
A darkness comes over,
Your eyes.

The footsteps stop.
A sickening smell causes a
Tear,
To trickle so slowly,
Afraid to hit the ground.
I turn to face the darkness.
That same darkness,
I saw in your
Eyes.
As you speak,
I believe your words:
The fear no longer
Exists,
When death is
Upon us.
